A temperature above 75 F could make the immune system of the salamanders and newts weaker and also increases the risk of skin infections. You don't have to buy a special bulb and lamps to heat their habitat. That is an unnecessary cost. The perfect place to keep the salamanders and newts is in the basement or somewhere when is cool enough for them. The children love to have salamander as a pet because of its colorful skin. So that is why they are so interesting for them.
